Desta Gallery is delighted to continue collaborating with the Pacific Design Center (PDC) in West Hollywood to present “Equilibrium,” an exhibition of sculptures by Brandon Stieg. The exhibition is on view from September 9, 2024, through March 7, 2025, at the PDC Blue Building, located at 8687 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, CA 90069.

We are also thrilled to share that PDC will participate in Getty’s PST Art initiative with the opening of SCI-Arc’s “Views of Planet City.” The PDC Gallery will join other major Southern California museums in this distinguished Getty PST program. PST Art (formerly Pacific Standard Time), one of the largest art events in the U.S., returns for its third edition on September 15, 2024. This year’s theme, “Art & Science Collide,” will engage audiences across Southern California. The program will feature over 800 artists, 70-plus exhibitions, and a wide range of public programs from cultural, scientific, and community organizations, running over five months. Topics will cover themes such as climate change, environmental justice, the future of artificial intelligence, and alternative medicine.

Brandon Stieg is a sculptor whose work is inspired by the natural world and the industrial relics of the past. From a young age, he was captivated by the mysteries of reality and the imaginative worlds he could create through drawing. Stieg pursued his passion by studying studio arts and architecture at the University of Colorado at Boulder and has since devoted his life to refining his craft. His expertise spans metal and wood, and his work has gained recognition among collectors worldwide.

Stieg’s wood carvings serve as the Yin to the Yang of his precise and intricate metalwork, offering a contrasting yet complementary style. His wood sculptures are characterized by smooth surfaces and curvilinear forms, with a focus on balance. The natural beauty of the wood’s grain is highlighted, while the minimalist designs evoke harmony and allure, enhancing any space the sculptures occupy.

The Pacific Design Center is recognized nationally and internationally as a prime destination for design excellence, housing over 70 showrooms. The PDC is a vital hub for over 2,000 leading manufacturers specializing in the finest residential and commercial interior furnishings, offering educational opportunities and resource information. An architectural landmark anchoring Los Angeles’ elite design district, the PDC’s 1.6 million-square-foot campus is a resource for professional interior designers, architects, facility managers, decorators, and dealers.
